Optimism
Alliteration- The commencement of two or more stressed syllables of a word group, either with the same consonant sound or sound group

Analogy- A similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based

Assonance- Resemblance of sounds

Consonance- Correspondence of sounds; harmony of sounds

Ballad- A simple narrative poem of folk origin, composed in short stanzas and adapted for singing. 

Blank Verse- Unrhymed verse especially the unrhymed iambic pentameter

Figurative language- A figure of language

Free Verse- A verse by itself

Haiku- A verse written in 17 syllables divided into three lines of 5, 7, 5

Imagery- The use of rhetorical images

Lyric Poem- A short poem of song like quality 

Narrative Poem- A poem that tells a story

Ode- A lyric poem typically of elaborate or irregular metrical form and expressive of exalted or enthusiastic emotion

Rhyme- Verse or poetry having correspondence in the terminal sound of the lines

Rhythm- The pattern of regular or irregular pulses caused in music

Shakespearean sonnet- a sonnet developed in the 16th century England

Petrarchan Sonnet- Italian Sonnet
